Adults with prediabetes might get thirsty because of how the kidney works. By cutting excess sugar through the urine, the body starts to need water. But, drinking water pushes the kidney to expel more sugar.

Hence, the body gets trapped in an endless cycle of peeing and drinking water to cure thirst.
