Can Leave You Feeling Fatigued

When people are feeling tired, ironically, they usually reach for a sugary beverage to give them energy.

While it is indeed true that sugar provides a temporary increase in energy, this spike in energy levels does not last.

Foods and drinks rich in sugar but low in fiber, protein, and complex carbs will give a temporary spike in energy levels that does not last long and quickly results in a crash as a result of blood sugar levels dropping low.

Constantly spiking blood sugar levels up and down usually results in fluctuations in energy levels which can ultimately leave you feeling tired and fatigued and generally unwell.

To avoid energy crashes, instead of simple carbs, try to get your energy from complex carbohydrate sources rich in fiber and low in added sugars and naturally occurring sugars.
